❝ emotions are overrated. stupid guilt and remorse and all that useless bullshit. guess you wouldn’t know anything about that, though, would you? considering you’re a fucking heartless bitch. must just be natural for you.
i’m not sure what you’re trying to do, but if you’re expecting me to get hurt or anything, you’re wasting your breath. i don’t care about them. they’re dead. i’m alive —— sort of. i’m done wasting my life moping about them.
———— now, if you excuse me, i’ve got better things to do. you’re boring me.❞
❝ now at least you can make me leave in a proper way. ❞
{ he had a crooked smirk on his face, evidently pleased with himself for being able to convince her to play video games, when she’d obviously never done such a thing before. or so it seemed like, at the very least. he got the feeling that he would regret ever agreeing to be her friend, since he preferred to be on his own, so the least he could do was make her regret it as well. even if knowing that, for each kill she made, he’d have to reveal something about himself bothered him, he decided that he would simply tell her minor things about himself for as long as he could. things that didn’t matter —— his favorite color, movies, bands, etc.
he tossed the controller into her lap rather than replying, reaching under the coffee table to pull out the box of mountain dew he kept around for whenever he was too lazy to part himself from the xbox to go to the kitchen, pulling out a can and popping it open as he started up the game, waiting for the map to load as he drained the can entirely in only a couple of gulps. crushing it, he tossed it carelessly to the side before the game actually started. }
❝Just make sure you’re not an idiot and waste your ammo right away.❞
{ he leaned lazily back into the couch, not having to worry about putting too much focus into the game, because he’d chosen the easiest map, farm. only three places, really, were in the map. a house, which only had three rooms, two downstairs and another upstairs, where the mystery box — a box that gave random weapons if you paid 950 points — was. then there was a barn, that has two floors as well. and a shed. it wasn’t easy to get lost in, really. only bad thing was that there was some fire, that would kill the play if stood in for too long, but that was easy to jump over, which reminded him —— }
❝——Oh, yeah, press A to jump. It’s the green button.❞
{ already, he’d managed to kill four zombies, though for him, that wasn’t much at all. it was practically nothing compared to his usual score, in fact. still, just one more kill and she would have to tell him something about herself… but he didn’t want to steal all the kills. he’d at least give her a chance to shoot one, even though he did stay near her, just in case she had to be revived. }
❝If you’re really having trouble, though, you can sit in my lap, and I’ll help you. ‘Cause I’m amazing and can keep myself alive at the same time.❞
{ he was mostly joking, but if she chose to sit on his lap just so he could help show her what buttons to press and where to move, he wouldn’t complain. }
❝ ——…. ❞
[ her expression was now easy to read — she was confused, maybe there’s been a piece of exasperation as well. jason was not a gentleman and katherine was now certain about it. he was more like careless about whether she would think positively or negatively about him. in his eyes, the brunette must’ve been just an usual girl with outgrown self-esteem, not remotely cognizant she was able to rip his heartoff from his such a good-looking looking body. ——- katherine directed her eyes on the screen, folding her legs & holding the controller in both of her hands rigidly. ]
[ it was hard for her to get on the right track —- she was told all the basics, so she could just walk all around the map & kill a zombie if able to spot one, but she was slow at it. kitty kat clearly needed some time to realize how to make all main moves she was able to do & before she’s even realized, he’d already scored four kills. ——- five of these meant she was supposed to split up something about her person.
that thought made her proceed more quickly, closely resulting with her character on fire, but jumping in last two or so seconds. then it all just lead to a desperate need of finding at least one of the zombies & when she finally did — ended up killing two, by accident. but he was insignificantlyabove his goal as well.. —- ]
❝ Guess we have some chit-chat to do now. Pause the game. ——- My first question is, what are you doing around? Just a casual dead ringer that walks around or is there something else? Second is… share one of your most painful memories. ❞
[ when the going gets tough, the tough get going. ]
